What information is handled?

If you email me, I receive your email address, your name if supplied, and the information you choose to include. The hosting server also records technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, dates and times, browser details and errors in access and security logs.

Why it is used

I use enquiries to reply to you and discuss work or collaborations. This is based on my legitimate interests in responding to correspondence, or taking steps at your request before entering a contract where applicable. Technical logs support the legitimate interests of operating, securing and troubleshooting this website.

Who can access it?

Information may be handled by hosting, server-management and email providers as needed to deliver those services. This website is hosted on DigitalOcean infrastructure and managed using RunCloud. Information may also be disclosed where legally required. Provider processing locations and any relevant international-transfer arrangements can be requested using the contact address above.

How long is it kept?

Correspondence is kept while needed to deal with your enquiry, any resulting working relationship and applicable legal or record-keeping obligations. Technical logs are subject to the hosting server’s routine rotation and are kept only as needed for operation, troubleshooting and security. Relevant records may need to be kept longer to investigate an incident or meet a legal obligation.

Cookies and tracking

This version of the website does not set cookies or use analytics, advertising pixels, local storage or embedded third-party videos. Fonts, images and styles are served from this website. YouTube and LinkedIn are ordinary links: those services are contacted when you follow a link, and their own privacy and cookie rules then apply. Email links open your chosen email application.

There are no optional cookies to accept or reject, so this website does not show a cookie-consent banner. This notice and any consent controls will be reviewed before tracking or third-party embeds are introduced.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your information, restrict or object to its use, or request a portable copy. To make a request, email hello@shaunsparks.co.uk. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator.
